PITCH YOUR STORY BY December 8, 2019

We are seeking contributors for CreatedHere’s March issue – psyche. Click HERE to view the call in French.

Visual art can be a special tool for exploring concepts that are abstract, non-linear, or difficult to explain in words. It does so by helping us to think visually, connect unlikely ideas, and make leaps of understanding. As such, art is a powerful tool for exploring the mind, whether consciousness, the sense of self, subconscious yearnings, mental health or the structure of the brain.

Something every artist also knows: making art impacts the mind of the maker. How many of us have enjoyed improved wellness simply by stretching our creative muscles? Today we see scientific proof of the benefits to our brains.

We are seeking:

  • artistic explorations of the mind, consciousness, mental health and related concepts

  • stories of art therapy in action and the impact of craft on wellness

  • research-backed discussions on the impact of art and creativity on the brain

  • visual representations of the brain, neurons or related structures

We are open to any and all ideas that creatively fit this theme. You do not need to be a writer to suggest a story.

Our submission process is available HERE. Your initial story pitch should be short and sweet and include images. Please read carefully through the instructions to ensure that you include everything we need to consider your work.

Anyone may submit – all mediums, genders, cultures, identities. Up to 10 contributors will be selected and they will each receive an $80 honorarium.
