Exciting news and a sneak peek!
I have very exciting news! Buckland Merrifield Gallery will be hosting a launch for the fourth issue of CreatedHere magazine on Friday, which means we are counting down T minus 4 days! I will be posting a preview each day to whet your appetite and get you excited to see the real thing in person. Today we have a little peek at an article about ceramic artist Maja Padrov written by Erica Stanley.
"Maja Padrov’s work is on fire! Her architectural, smash up of hard geometric angles is in stark contrast to the smooth forms that ceramics usually takes on. She does use traditional ceramic elements, and they seem to be placed in contrast to these geometric forces; this creates a strong dialogue and intriguing tension.
Her work is rarely described with ceramic vocabulary, rather, consistently draws on inspiration from industrial metal applications such as extruded sheet metal, aged rusted metal and corrugated vent pipes. To look at her work is to look at the most beautiful, derelict, industrial building at sunrise on a foggy day." - Erica Stanley
